Stone Brewery - Vertical Epic 10.10.10 (9.5% ABV)

Stone Brewery - Vertical Epic 10.10.10 (9.5% ABV)
- Light honey aromatics, kinda like a Belgian Ale
- Initial taste is kinda like zest of an Orange peel but it's not orangey
- Light bitterness, not hoppy at all
- Aftertaste is similar, trails to a bit of an odd taste .. coppery mebby?
- Hmmm..not to sure about this years Vertical Epic
- Either my taste buds are all wacked, or it just has abit of an odd taste
- Man, the 9.5% is already getting me lightly buzzed
- I got a 2nd bottle along with this one...I'll give that ago soon

Deschutes Brewery - Hop In The Dark C.D.A (Cascadian Dark Ale) (6.5% ABV)

Deschutes Brewery - Hop In The Dark C.D.A (Cascadian Dark Ale) (6.5% ABV)
- Light bitter/flowery Hops aromatics
- Man this stuff is DARK! It's like a Porter or a Stout in color!
- Mmmmmmm...MAN! Medium-heavy body, semi-smooth/velvety feel
- Light smokey porter taste, with medium cascade bitter/flowery hops
- Aftertaste you get more of the smokeyness, and the bitterness trails off
- Wow! such a complex IPA like beer! I really like it!
- Highly recommend if you want a smokey, dark, velvety IPA/Porter beer!
- 8.5/10

Red Hook - Big Ballard Imperial IPA (8.6% ABV)

Red Hook - Big Ballard Imperial IPA (8.6% ABV)
- Nice hint of hoppy, flowery aromatics
- Mmmmm, yummy semi-sweet amber malt taste, medium-light hoppy bitterness
- Similar aftertaste, nice and smooth too
- I can't tell that it is a 8.6% ABV beer, it is not malty-alcoholy tasting at all
- The more I drink it, the more I am really liking it!
- Highly recommend it if you want a semi-bitter/sweet IPA with pretty high ABV
- 8.5/10

Full Sail - Spotless IPA (6.5% ABV)

Full Sail - Spotless IPA (6.5% ABV)
- Light aromatics...malty, not flowery/hoppy
- light-medium bodied, semi burnt grain/hops taste or something...
- different bitter taste, because of the burst something...but it's not a dark ale
- "Spotless" ... sure the looks are..but the taste is odd!
- Not liking this one much, odd bitterness... 5/10

Stone - 14th Imperial IPA (June 2010, 8.9% ABV)

Stone - 14th Imperial IPA (June 2010, 8.9% ABV)
- Light sweet/flowery aromatics
- WHOA...it's like a IPA & Hefe hybrid
- medium, unfiltered feel & look, very light semi-sweet hefe taste, with bitter hops finish
- Aftertaste maybe slight citrus, but defo bitter hops .. lingers around, but not strong
- This was unexpected, I didn't know what it would be..but its more like a unfiltered IPA with very slight citrus/semi-sweet hefe in it.
- 7.5/10

Firestone, Union Jack, Walker - IPA (7.5% ABV)

Firestone, Union Jack, Walker - IPA (7.5% ABV)
- Lots of fresh/dried flowery hops aromatics!
- Medium body feel, clean, fairly bitter & amber ale tasting
- If I were to imagine a good basic IPA taste, it would be this. Flowery hops aromatics, amber malts taste with plenty of bitterness.
- It all blends pretty evenly, but slightly more bitterness.
- Aftertaste has typical bitterness..and slight copper metal too, just slightly
- I like this one, different, but same..7/10
